When to consult
A timely specialist visit can clarify the next step.
Patients usually reach out before booking flights — to confirm whether a procedure is realistic for their case, evaluate candidacy, organize pre-operative clearance, understand recovery timing, and align on conservative expectations before committing to surgery abroad.
How First Care coordinates
We organize the pathway around the appointment.
- A reviewed plastic surgeon consult with credential and specialty verification.
- Pre-operative medical clearance, lab work, and imaging coordination.
- Accredited facility selection and procedure booking.
- Translation support during consultation and pre-op briefings.
- Recovery planning: accommodation, transport, follow-up visits, and return-travel timing.
- Documentation for follow-up with your doctor at home.
Patient preparation
What to prepare before your appointment
- Recent medical history, including chronic conditions and surgeries.
- Current medications, including supplements and hormonal therapy.
- Goals expressed clearly — outcome you hope for, not a specific procedure.
- Photos from multiple angles if requested by the surgeon.
- Realistic timeline: travel dates and how long you can stay for recovery.
FAQ
Do you guarantee a specific surgical result?
No. Surgical results depend on the patient, the surgeon’s judgment, healing biology, and post-operative care. Realistic expectations are part of every responsible plastic surgery consultation.
How long should I plan to stay in Ecuador after surgery?
Recovery time depends on the procedure. For many cosmetic procedures, ten to fourteen days minimum is reasonable to allow for follow-up visits and reduce travel-related risks. The surgeon will give specific guidance.
What about combining procedures in one trip?
Combining procedures can be appropriate but increases anesthesia time, recovery time, and risk. This decision is made by the surgeon during consultation based on your case — not as a sales option.
Is this for emergencies or revision surgery from another country?
Not for emergencies. For complications from a prior surgery abroad, contact the original surgical team and local emergency services first if symptoms are severe. We can coordinate a second opinion for non-urgent revision questions.
